Happiness under 130,000 salary

Finding Happiness Beyond the Paycheck: Thriving on Less Than 130,000 Pesos a Month

An article not too long ago was claiming that in order to be happy, Filipinos need to receive 130,000 pesos monthly salary. As important as financial stability is for us, money cannot equate happiness. There are already so many ways by which you can lead an adequately fulfilling life even with just a minimum income of what they're talking about. Here's how you could embrace happiness on your own terms regardless of how your income goes.

1. Relationships Over Bank Balances

Studies have always shown that great, positive relationships form the bedrock of happiness. It's not the money that we make; it is the quality of connections that we have with our friends, family, and our community. There can be no paycheck to purchase that kind of happiness we find when we are able to spend time with the ones we love, when we laugh together, or build memories. Relationships, deepened by spending and true effort, bring rewards into our lives.

2. Savor the Sweet Abundance

We ignore many things that are right there to be appreciated in daily living: such as the sweetness of a sunset view, a silent walk around the park, or the relish of a great homemade meal. Happiness finds often in the little experiences around us, day-to-day. Take time out in your daily routine and experience the simple pleasures for themselves, and you'll begin to notice much more intense satisfaction.

3. Focus on Gratitude

There are a multitude of reasons that gratitude should top your list of happiness-enriching tools. Gratitude focuses your attention on what you do have instead of what is lacking; it cultivates an attitude of abundance. Try the easy practice of keeping a gratitude journal. Write several things you're thankful for each day. This practice will shift your outlook, no matter what you bring home in money.

4. Spend Money on Experiences, Not Stuff

If we spend money buying stuff to be happy, often the happiness is fleeting. Invest in experiences instead - a day trip with friends, a cooking class, or a new hiking trail. These experiences make us remember and are life enriching and give more satisfaction in the long term than accumulating stuff.

5. Cultivate a Growth Mindset

The time we spend in our world is temporary, as are our abilities. And with this mindset, we find happiness in growth and development. We should be open to challenges and acquire new skills, with personal goals. Self-improvement in your career, health, or personal life can bring a feeling of accomplishment and fulfillment. Happiness often comes from knowing that we're moving forward, regardless of the pace. Another thing is to study another language like Spanish for you to reconnect with Spanish-speaking communities.

6. Pursue Hobbies and Passions

You get to live life to the fullest and maintain a balance between work and leisure by doing things you love. From painting and gardening to dancing and music, hobbies bring flavor and meaning to life. These hobbies can be inexpensive and yet fulfilling to express energy and creativity toward something that brings you real joy. I started learning music in 2010 and I keep doing so to keep this passion.

7. Practice Mindfulness and Self-Care

Mindfulness is the act of living in the present, something that has been proven to have the effect of lowering the level of stress and, by extension, happiness levels. You don't necessarily have to spend a dime on vacation to unwind. Just take a few minutes a day to breathe heavily, meditate, or become aware of your environment. Self-care is in anything from taking a nice warm bath, reading books, or exercising. A little self-care every day will lift your spirit and help you face challenges in life.

8. Giving back to and helping others

Help others and that is one of the best ways to boost your happiness. Whether it's volunteering, helping a neighbor, or just being there for a friend, acts of kindness increase our sense of purpose and connection. You don't need a big bank account to be generous; sometimes, your time and empathy are the most valuable gifts you can offer.

9. Find Joy in Learning New Things

Learning does not have to mean college degrees or job security. Try a new recipe, take up a new hobby, or try one of the many DIYs online for something to try at home. The journey of learning keeps our brains stimulated and engaged with this world; it helps people remain curious and amazed in everything we do. So enjoy that discovery regardless of how much money you might make.

10. Redefine Success to Fit Your Budget

Most people have set success as earning high money, but success is a relative term. Success to me is having adequate time to spend with loved ones, being healthy and strong, or just free to pursue my desires. Redefining success in my own context brings fulfillment without necessarily forcing myself to meet sets of meaningless financial benchmarks.

11. Health and Wellness

Our health is our most precious wealth and does not need a huge budget to maintain. Regular exercise, balanced meal, and good sleep are some of the greatest keys to happiness. Seek cheap, affordable activities such as going for walks, cycling, or even performing some yoga at home. Keeping your body fit also gives you the energy and grit to face life.

12. Don't Compare With Others

Comparing your life with others on social media due to income or lifestyle has been made easy with the advent of social media. That is a big lie. Comparing others' lifestyles to yours has been discovered to be the thief of joy. Therefore, learn to remind yourself that nobody's journey is the same as yours, and nobody will be happy because he or she is having something you are not having. Concentrate on what will make you happy and fulfilled instead of competing with others.

13. Concentrate on What You Can Control

There are things we cannot control in life and wasting time worrying about such things will only suck up our energy. Focus on what you can control-that is, your mindset, your actions, your day-to-day habits. This is what gives you control over your life despite situations.

14. Keep Moving by Setting Small Goals

Even the most minor goals give a feeling of accomplishment and drive. Be it reading a new book, learning a new recipe, or starting some small project, achieving those tiny goals gives us that little rush of dopamine and sense of purpose. Divide up your big goals into actionable steps, and then celebrate every milestone.

Final Thoughts: Finding Happiness Within

The instinct is to want financial security and believe that more money will make life easier. Happiness, however, is something we choose daily, a product of our views and actions rather than our bank account. Focusing on relationships, personal growth, and experiences that don't require a high salary can build a rich and fulfilling life.

So, the next time you become worried about money, remember how contentment is a reality for you in the here and now. It is in how we live, not in what we earn. So live with simple pleasures, nourish relationships, pursue your passions, and redefine your success on your terms. Happiness is not a number. It is a lifestyle.
